My name is Cameron Brock and welcome to my website. Here, I will update new projects that I’m working on, share my opinion on news related to finance and economics, and write about particular books that have had an impact on my life. This website is a way to get to know me, my interests, and professional goals.
After completing my undergraduate studying finance at Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business, I began working as a Pension Fund Analyst at Hydro One’s in-house pension fund. My role is focused on providing quality analytical support to the Pension Directors applicable to private markets’ investments, including real estate, infrastructure, private equity and private debt. I am keen to learn about all things investment- and economics-related, but I have a specific interest in alternative and unlisted asset classes.
I am an enthusiastic, disciplined, and self-motivated individual and I am devoted to continuously learning and enjoying life. Outside of my professional career, you will find me playing or watching soccer (Liverpool FC), trying to perfect the handstand, learning to make a new dish, or studying. I am currently studying to complete the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. My goal is to graduate from the program by the end of 2021. After that, my goal is to complete the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
Finally, personal finance and financial literacy is something I feel quite passionate about. Ever since I started investing in stocks, I have held the belief that investing your money today can help lead to financial freedom in the future. With that mindset, I have continued to try and understand how to invest in undervalued companies with a competitive advantage that will drive a strong shareholder return. You can read about the evolution of my equity analysis models here. I use models to develop a systemized approach to my personal investment decisions and to keep a library of my decision-making process. Using this model, this website will include posts on analyses that I’ve completed on investment opportunities in markets around the world.
